Make Nigeria Great... Nigeria's First Registered Card Game by Nobody: 6:51am On Oct 01, 2014
At a time Nigerian graduates are being challenged to be proactive and employ their education creatively, a young graduate creates a card game he called Kommon Sense.
Kommon Sense Master Cards, a game made up of 72 cards, with very familiar subject matters in words and images, was created by Victor Prince Dickson, a graduate of University of Jos.
It is an intellectually demanding game that tasks the brain even as you enjoy the game. In the game one of the players is at liberty to refuse another game mate connections and interpretations.  It is the responsibility of the players to persuasively explain follow up of the game with facts until the other players are convinced enough to appreciate the other players’ Kommon Sense.

The game has cards with inscriptions such as, death, wisdom, knowledge, love, water, war, harmony, divorce, trust, unity, anger, etc.  with each of them demanding the application of common sense to respond effectively.  For instance, the card “death” ends the game abruptly, except if the card “life” challenges to allow the game to continue.  But if the card, “life” has been used before “death” appears, then the game ends automatically.
In addition, when a card is wrongly played, the partner will call for a consequence, meaning that you have to go to school and pick a card as a punishment, while when you cannot provide what is bought in the market as demanded by the card “money”, he or she goes to school, while the person plays what is demanded.
Furthermore, there is the card “Purpose” which when played, demands the card, “knowledge”.  This points to the fact that “purpose” cannot be actualized without full application of “knowledge”.  ‘Purpose” is a card with words like patience, fear and ignorance written at its bottom and beautifully accompanied by a cross graphic.  The 12-rule game also has “change” as one of the words written boldly on the card.  With “change”, “pain” can be used as follow up.  This is to signify the true life situation that change often comes with pain.
Also, the card “Kommon Sense” is one of the most important cards in the game.  It is the card that compels the game partner to go to school twice, but it can be cancelled if the other game partner has a kommon sense card. To enjoy kommon sense card game, you share the cards in fives and tens respectively.
The creation of the game was brilliant effort that could only have emerged from a very creative mind. It was difficult dropping the manual after reading through the introduction and the rules that followed.  The graphics used were strategic, because the white and black reflect good and bad, right and wrong.  It showed high sense of creativity.  Starting the game is unlike the popular Whot card game as instead of going to the ‘market’, you go to ‘school’.
However, the introductory part of the manual was not too clear, but sums up what the game is all about.  In addition, it was difficult to understand some aspects of the game, especially where Kommon Sense Game is a tool for conflict resolution, bonding in love and marriage and leadership.  Also, the situation where the game encourages players to make their won interpretations and connections amounts to misinterpretations and wrong connections by players.  But all in all, it is a beautifully developed game, thoughtful with well structured rules and words.  It is a very nice game and one that can enhance players’ thinking capability.
