Nigeria: After 54 Years, Still Struggling to Be a Democracy
When Nigeria became independent 54 years ago, it expected to lead Africa to prosperity and democracy. But ethnic and religious violence, rigged elections, military takeovers, and a greedy political class have drained the hopes of Nigerians. In 1979, some problems facing Africa were highlighted, but to my concern, Nigeria is still facing those problem, even none has being solved...... Its now 44yrs ago, no wonder the American said Nigeria is being governed by whim and selfish citizen,.....; i will always say it, knowing that Nigeria is now 54yrs its a disgrace for us, i dont no wat exactly dey are celebrating....
