Lena Headey was spotted on the Game Of
Thrones set on Friday, and her character's long
blonde locks are long gone.
For Lena was filming the famous 'walk of shame'
scene taking from George R.R. Martin's book,
which sees the manipulative queen stripped
naked and forced to endure the humiliation and
wrath of the common people as she navigates
her way through the streets of King's Landing.
The actress could be seen with fake blood and
dirt covering her bare skin as a crew member
wraps her in a dressing gown during filming of
series five. At the end of series four, Cersei and her
daughter-in-law Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer)
made it clear that there was no love between
them in their pursuit of power.
So after the death of King Joffrey, Margaery set
her sights on her late husband's younger
brother, Tommen Baratheon (Dean-Charles
Chapman), who inherited the Iron Throne.
According to George R. R. Martin's books, the
ambitious noblewoman does succeed in marrying
Tommen, though not without facing the wrath of
Cersei who plot to have her framed for adultery.
Controversy: A church in the Croatian city
reportedly barred Lena Heady from shooting
the nude scene.
However, the brother-loving Lannister finally
gets her comeuppance when the High Septon
(Jonathan Pryce) suspects the knight who claims
to have bedded Margaery is lying.
The truth about Cersei's plot comes out as well
as number of her previous manipulative plans,
forcing her to atone for her sins by walking
naked through the streets of King's Landing,
while subjected to the abuse of the thousands of
commoners watching her punishment.
The scene has proven to be a controversial one,
when a church in the Croatian city reportedly
barred Lena Heady from shooting the nude
scene.
But now, town officials are said to have
apparently had a change of heart.
According to TMZ, officials green-lit the pivotal
walk of shame from the Croatian city's famous
Church of St. Nicholas through town - but only
on the condition that she does not set foot in
the church.
Series five refers to the events of fifth novel in
the seven book A Song Of Fire And Ice series,
called A Dance With Dragons.
Season five of the Game Of Thrones will air in
April 2015.
