You don't neccessarily have to have a 5 or 6-figure budget to make your home beautiful. Here are some easy and simple cheap decorating tricks:
-Painting/Repainting: Paint can literally turn straw into gold. A touch of paint can do amazing things. Paint that old dresser or paint a pattern on that '99 coffee table. Paint really makes dry bones rise again and it takes the 'boring, old' look away.

Using Wood as a Substitute: Wood comes in handy anytime and it can take any shape. Coupled with the fact that they are very cheap compared to other materials like stone, tiles etc. Wood can be shaped and painted to look like brick, stone, tile, metal... just almost anything. -Patterned Wall: Wanna bring life and colour into that room? You can not go wrong with a patterned wall. Painting pattern on a wall brings life, luxury and a bit of sophistication into a room. Opting for wallpapers can be quite expensive so why not try painting a beautiful pattern on an accent wall? Can turn out to be an exciting Project.

-Faux Pas Tiling: No, this is not a French class. Faux pas tiling simply means painting a surface to look like tiles. You don't have to keep keeping up with that cold, blah, concrete floor in your house. Apart from tiling, using rug or carpet(some of which can cause a fortune), you can faux pas tile your floor to look something like this:

DIY chandelier: Yep, that's right. You can make your own chandelier. Chandeliers add luxury and are very good source of light for any space. They also make a bold Statement and makes a room look expensive.

Experiment : To see if wood can be painted to look like brick
Apparatus: Soap, primer, paint roller wooden panel, ruler, coloured chalk, painter's tape, trowel, spackling paste, sponge, paint
Procedure
Remove any electrical plates or wall
hangings attached to the wall. Clean the
area with soap and water to remove
grease, dirt or dust on the wall and attach a wooden panel to the wall(optional, you can paint on your wal directly if you want)
2
Pick a primer for the color you want the
grout lines to be. Pour primer into a paint
tray, and load a regular paint roller with
the primer by rolling it back and forth in
the tray. Cover the wood completely and
let it dry for two hours or until primer is
completely dry.
3
Measure the brick out with a ruler. Bricks
are typically 3 inches wide by 7 inches
long; allow a 1-inch space between the
bricks for the grout. Stagger the bricks in
the rows so they will look natural. Use
colored chalk to mark the outline.
Twill look like:

4
Affix blue painter's tape to all of the grout
lines. Use a trowel to put 1/2 inch of
spackling paste over the area. Clean the
spackling paste off the blue tape grout
lines with damp cloth. Let dry completely.
5
Paint another coat of spackling finish on
the wall using a textured paint roller. Let
dry completely. Peel off the blue painter's
tape.
6
Use a sponge to add color to the brick.
Dapple red to the entire brick and let it dry
completely. Add a dapple of black, gray,
yellow and white over the red. Let each
color dry completely before adding the next
color
7
Clean brushes and equipment with soap
and water. Let the faux brick dry for 24
hours before replacing electrical plates and
wall hangings.
And this is the final result

Another option is:
-cut wood to desired tile size
-fasten unto wall with either adhesive or nail
-paint the entire surface any paint color you want using a paint brush.
Okay... enough talking, this is what I mean:

Note: The colour of the brick depends on your preference. You can simply paint the brick area red, or mix colours to add more interest or old look.
