Job description
Working under the direction of the Application Development Manager, the Web Application Developer will be responsible for prototyping, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, implementing, and maintaining moderate to complex web-based applications.

The Web Application Developer will focus on core applications for both internet and intranet sites, and will be responsible for developing new applications, as well as providing application support for both new and legacy web applications in the system.
The Web Application Developer will be responsible for developing custom web-based applications based on end user requirements and process improvements.
Must be able to conduct research into emerging Internet technologies and programming languages, as well as the ability to organize and present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
Must be able to document development efforts to describe standards, procedures, program changes and other related items.
Must be able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Must be able to organize, manage and work within a team-oriented, collaborative environment, providing technical consultative support to peers, projects and end users, including the development of technical standards.
Must be able to use strong verbal and written communication skills effectively to communicate to a non-technical audience.
Requires strong customer and interpersonal/human relations service skills.

Desired Skills and Experience
A minimum of 3 years in a web application development environment, developing various applications for a variety of internal applications, clientele and/or related vendors is required.
Extensive knowledge of CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, XML, AJAX, DOM, HTML(5), JSON and cross-browser development and W3C standards.
Experience with other object oriented programming languages and frameworks.
Experience with SQL, MySQL, or another relational database system.
Experience with web server administration (IIS, Apache, other Web Server).
Google applications API, Google maps API, Google Search Engine Appliance;
Passionate about building Web 2.0 applications that can disrupt the corporate world
Strong background in programming web applications in Java and PHP
Hands on experience in programming web applications using Java and PHP with at least 2 year's experience
Ability to write queries on mySQL, MS SQL or Oracle Database.
Experience developing Web Portals using PHP and JAVA
Experience integrating with Ecommerce, ERP, CRM and CMS solutions a plus
Working knowledge of Web server technology and the ability to make appropriate recommendations related to server support for supported applications.
Knowledge and understanding of application development methodologies.
Working knowledge of structuring, developing and implementing interactive web sites and web based application.
