Adopting an adult dog is not that dangerous. You just need to understand him and get him to trust you by consistently treating him well.

Wow, your dog looks great. His intact tail is gorgeous! Wish I could get him but my current dog would probably fight with him and get killed.

Lol,
You can still get him if you stay alone in the compound, maybe keep one in the backyard or you use cage for one and as time goes on you socialize both well.
