The Use Of "Should In Case"-a Big Blunder by arvinsloane(m): 11:05am On Oct 16, 2014 |
What do people mean when they say "should in case"? Some even say "in case of incasity". CAUTION: Both are blunders. The first is an error of tautology,. e.g. INCORRECT: Take this money for your upkeep should in case I arrive late. CORRECT: Take this money for your upkeep should I arrive late; or say "...in case I arrive late" (not both, please). The second is a pure case of error in meaning and sense. NB: Please, never again be caught being a victim of these blunders. Culled from language clinic by ayo Alonge 3 Likes |
