NEW TECHNOLOGY: Are you always bothered about mud stains and dirt on the body of your vehicle. Your worries may soon be over. Nissan has developed a self-cleaning car. Nissan in Europe has begun tests on innovative paint technology that repels mud, rain and everyday dirt, meaning drivers may never have to clean their cars again. The specially engineered super-hydrophobic and oleophobic paint, which repels water and oils, has been applied to the all -new European market "Nissan Note" to create the world's first self-cleaning car. To assess the real-world effectiveness of the super-hydrophobic as a potential aftermarket application, engineers at Nissan Technical Centre Europe will be testing the self-cleaning Note over the coming months in a variety of conditions. Nissan is the first car maker to apply the technology, called Ultra-Ever Dry, on automotive bodywork. By creating a protective layer of air between the paint and the environment, it effectively stops standing water and road spray from creating dirty marks on the car's surface. This coating technology will be considered as a future aftermarket option by Nissan.

I can't imagine travelling from Abuja to port harcourt through Ajaokuta - obollo afor - Enugu, on a rainy day with all the Enugu state red mud on my car. Getting to Ph, took a look at the car and it was still very clean.

I will dance Shoki, Skelewu, Azonto, throughout the day.

But nobody knows the side effects of using such a car yet. If there are no side effects then let Nissan introduce it.

Side effects? It has no known side effects, at least none for now. And I believe there will be a special version for Africa.
