The only Muna that is still popular to my eyes is Muna the rapper/ex-beauty queen. I dont know the Muna on this thread. If it ressurrected(his career), then the undertaker stuck it right dead again. 3 Likes |

Lovers of Yoruba movies will remember a Mainframe Production titled 'Ti Oluwa ni'le'. In that movie, Kareem Adepoju (Baba Wande) had connived with some village chiefs and elders to sell a piece of land which was hitherto marked inhabitable and property of the gods. Baba Wande and his cohorts, out of greed, clandestinely sold said piece of land under the pretext and conviction that land belongs to God (ti Oluwa ni'le). Well, after a while, everyone who was involved in that transaction started dying one after the other. Baba Wande went in search of divination. He was told the deaths were a repercussion of that act and that he was next (he being the only survivor); the only thing that could save him was if the deceased was not buried. By the time Baba Wande left the diviner's, the corpse of his friend was at the cemetary for interment. Baba Wande rushed to the cemetary and from afar started shouting: "E ogbodo sin 'ku yen ooo..." (You must not inter that corpse ooo" repeatedly. Of course, the disruption he caused meant he was able to get closer and held on to the casket still yelling "e ogbodo sin 'ku yi... A ni e ogbodo sin 'ku yi se!" (You mustn't inter this corpse... I mean it, you mustn't inter this corpse) to the bewilderment of mourners. Movie ended and was supposed to have a sequel. E never comot. Reading about OBJ's yet-to-be-released book and Buruji Kashamu's frantic effort to get a court injunction to stop its launch, all I can hear is "iwe yen o gbodo jade ooo" (that book must not be released). Problem is, I don't know how he sounds so I hear "ani iwe yen o gbodo jade seee" in Baba Wande's voice. Hmmmm Nigeria, one day, one drama; one week, one blockburster. This should be very interesting. I'm here yelling "iwe yen gbodo jade ooo... Eje ko jade seee!" (That book must come out ooo... You have to let it come out!) 13 Likes 3 Shares |
