1. Football Team Killed By Lightning

In 1999, residents of the eastern part of Congo were in total shock after news of a tragedy alleged to be caused by witchcraft spread like wild-fire.

An entire Football team of 11 men were struck dead by lightning, but the bizarre part of the event was that nothing happened to the opposing team.

Investigators say the ugly incident occurred because of the metal spikes in the player’s shoes, but residents still believe witches had a major role to play in the incident.
