I don't mind going to Hell for this but i think 90% of the churches in Nigeria should be shut down. All pastors must start looking for a white collar job! It's disgusting to think of how much money they make from the innocent,the ignorant poor members still growing poorer by the day due to the fact that the pastors have adopted this brain washing method of saying “my God is not a poor God.”. True. His only son Jesus rode on a donkey doesn't mean there were no flashy chariots which were limousines in those times. Pharaoh used one too and the kings of those times....They never rode on donkeys,Jesus did.....
Now pastors wants us to emulate the ways of christ and it's very obvious they want no donkeys,Gulf stream G550, Gulf stream G450, Gulfstream V and Lear Jet with combined valued of $98.3million (N15.9billion),that is just one pastor we all know very well. 4 jets for the ministry to grow,you wanna share and preach the world of God from the Air..We are listening!!!!!!!!! They own private universities that even the same church members that built them cannot afford to get their kids enrolled in,the pastors kids schools overseas while they milk the poor all in the name of God loves a cheerful giver. Redeemers church,we are watching too....!!!!!!!
In my own opinion,no pastor has the right to own a university if it's not free. And they blame the government for embezzling money but we got government schools that are free and government universities that are cheaper. If the government is corrupt and they still have some goodness in them to build government schools and hospitals and what have you,i can imagine what the heck our Nigerian pastors are doing. We citizens of Nigeria have never and will never expect much from our government and they still build roads and all that. Pastors that are richer than some governors will never do that. They only think of themselves,their families(not all),assistant pastors,choir master and how to find new ways to lay blame on the devil. They sit on the pulpit like a God,the chair they sit on is more expensive than some cars. They surround themselves with police escort,they are afraid to die but they wanna make heaven.
We only give respect to those pastors because of their age,our culture and tradition demand respect for elders.That's their saving grace. To me they are common men like you and I. We now have air conditions in churches bought with our tithes and offerings and after service we go back home to our homes with no air conditions and dropping our hard earned sweat in some basket. Now some churches have banks and ATM machines in the house of the lord.. What a progress??
Any pastors that claims to have written a book or wrote a book and sold millions of copies or thousands of copies to me are fallacious claims. They cannot write,they are not as intelligent as writers. We now know in the music industry that platinum,gold,top internationally recognized artists buy songs written by unknown people(you can ask Davido and Limpopo master)..So my guess is that someone wrote those books and you just put your name on it. REV.blah blah blah and advertise it in church and ask members to grab their copies. That's fraud!
In quote..the Benue State chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Arch Bishop Yiman Orkwar sees nothing wrong in churches establishing schools and running them in a professional manner, without sentiments. Now let me ask you..? How old are you sir? When did you graduate from the University? Where have you worked? How did you get the money to build a university? Was the government involved in building of the university? Are the fees normal to you? Can your children afford to attend such universities if you are not a state chairman of CAN or if you had a legitimate source of income,like working in a company where you earn 180,000naira a month. God is all about love. And if the so called pastors don't know God is love. Then Bleep ya all. I wonder why the government should do everything,we got richer men. No one in Nigeria should be allowed to own 1 billions dollars,the Oil wells or whatever is for the whole population not for alakija and others. We should be entitled to at least 5000usd every year per citizen in this country. Before them dangotes and alakijas were born,the oil was there. NOBODY born by a woman on earth in Nigeria has the right to own an oil well. NEVER EVER EVER. Why seize it for personal gains and not for national gains. We contained Ebola....Bullshit.......!! The easiest ones have not been contained like Malaria,Polio,depression etc...........Anyways them private schools owned by churches built with the church funds should be closed down. Any pastor or whoever that owns above 1 billion dollars must be contained. Pastors should be able to repairs roads,provide electricity,build hospitals for free since they claim the government is corrupt,then they should be a good example for other leaders to follow.
Pastors make people jobless the more,i don't see why you should go for 5 days deliverance service from monday to friday,you don't go to work. How do you feed your kids,how do you pay their school fees or wear good clothes when you are in the church from monday morning till friday while others are at work striving hard for their family to survive,you go for prayers on weekdays and expect money to fall from the sky..Nice one!!! Well i am gonna stop here for now,i dreamt i beat up a pastor,i hope it comes true..
NB: Men of God are different from pastors.. We have pastors in Nigeria not men of God. Who am i to judge..? churches in Nigeria are not doing enough to help the poor and indigent and asked for remedial action. Of what essence is a church that doesn’t give back?” We see your flashy clothes,jewelries,cars,trains,submarines,jets on television. We don't see your goodworks to the nigerian people on TV and when asked,you say you don't need to advertise all you do. My dear,you need to..Nigerians believe in what we see not wetin dem talk..

i don't have problem with prosperity propensity of Nigeria pastors or what they've achieved. I am not just happy because the church is not empowering the youth by creating job opportunities.
I reasoned that with the wealth of the church, we don't need to continue looking for members in our local churches but members looking for us when they see that not only will their spiritual needs be met but also their physical needs.
we should stop building sophisticated physical structures and start building individuals by meeting their basic needs(food, clothing nd shelter),this actually shows expression of love.
There is nothing wrong if churches start establishing factories, get a vast expanse of land for agriculture in all states of the federation. members would be trooping in into the churches without being preached to.

How will they be able to advice the government if they failed to set the basis nd example for such advice?

I think its good people are beginning to see these fake pastors for what they are. If they truly believe in that scam of sowing and reaping, then they should sow their jets into someone's life and reap 100jets but they will not do that because they know its a scam. They don't believe in what they preach.

@OP,
Its really painful that greed has taken over the church.

In the early church, contributionss/offerings were made and shared among brethren according to their needs so that they don't live in lack. People sold their lands and brought the money so that it will be shared among brethren. Read Acts 4:32-37.

Church contributions are meant to support brethren but today's pastors are siphoning it into their personal use and building magnificient chUrch building while their members live in abject poverty. Its so painnful.

Naija christians are so gullible. We have a lot of mumu in our churches. May God help us.

@op you said it all.

I know from RCCG that they tell teir followers they help but God told Adeboye to help that now one knows it, soory that is a big lie because so nobody will know and see which small amount goes to charity.

This Pastors will always twist the bible that it works for their way.

You won't go to hell for it. You just stated the obvious so withdraw that statement pls. Just keep a clean relationship with Jesus and you won't go to hell.

Speaking against a wrong practice is not what takes people to hell. That's my message to him.

LET ALL MEN BE LIARS, LET GOD BE TRUE. LET'S WAIT TILL THE JUDGEMENT DAY.
I'M NEUTRAL ON THIS.

Baby dont be neutral. What the op stated are not lies. DO you have your bible? Read acts 4;32-37 and you ll see that the early church handled offerings differently from the way our pastors are doing it. Read other portions of the new testament and you will see that things are not being done right this time around.

Sister, no neutrality here ooo....The church must practice what the early Christians did.....We must start building men's lives. Cathedrals won't go with the rapture.
