The statistics are skewed for the following reasons:
1. Those who go for DNA testing of their children already suspect infidelity, so there is obviously a bias there.
2. The clinic is based in a particular part of the country. There can be differences between different tribes, urban/rural spread, religions etc.
3. People who can afford DNA tests must necessarily be from the upper or upper middle levels of wealth that make up a very tiny percentage of the Nigerian population. Furthermore, people from such levels could be more prone to prolonged marital seperation like work, travelling etc. and exposure to situations where extra marital affairs can take place are then more likely.
4. The tests are performed outside the country increasing the likelihood of batch mix-up etc.

I do not believe that this study will carry any weight in a scientific debate.

Do not ignore the fact the the laboratory might be trying to sell its services by creating some form of panic. That said empirical data shows that Nigerian women are in the top tables of promiscuous women in the world.

the statistic doesn't sound accurate. Most of the time, you don't need DNA test to know that the child is yours.
The company just wants to create sensationalism so as to attract more customers.

MARKone:
It is both ways, worse in men. If you take an actual statistics of secret child(ren) sired by some husbands, without their wives knowing grin it's alarming.

Dear wifeys,
Please don't get upset or offended if hubby requests decides to carry out paternity tests on 'the' kids to determine if they are truly his as soon as they are born.
It's simply a precautionary measure to avoid shouldering another man's responsibilities.
Your unalloyed support for this decision will be appreciated.
Thanks.
