(CNN) -- Marking the second Ebola death in the United States, Dr. Martin Salia died at around 5 a.m. ET Monday, according to Nebraska Medicine spokesman Taylor Wilson.
A legal permanent resident of the U.S., Salia was working in West Africa when he contracted the virus.
Salia arrived Saturday at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. The hospital tweeted Monday that he was "extremely critical" when his treatment began and "unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we weren't able to save him."
Salia was suffering from advanced symptoms of Ebola, including kidney and respiratory failure, health officials said.

Sincerely speaking ...the West are not trying at all. They were all in the know when he got infected, shouldn't they have helped? Read somewhere that he was evacuated only at the prompt of his wife (also an American citizen) and her promising to reimburse government the cost of the evacuation undecided SAD - RIP Dr. Salia very few African Professional would have stepped into his shoes.

I don't wish anyone dead but to be honest, serves America right. They thought it was a problem peculiar to us only and decided to watch us all die one after the other not knowing it will end up affecting them too.

Let's now see if they will not take action to help the work.

the west does not owe you a favor, get that into your reasoning.
Rip Dr. Salia, he was airlifted a bit too late, the fact is he tested false negative initially as most people can to the ebola virus, by the time, he was tested again, it was already too spread. the hospiatl in Nebraska issued a statemetn from the begining, that he was the sickest they have treated so far.
His own family just issued a statement thanking the Biocontamaninant Unit for doing theri best to save him.
the case of the first Liberian guy was he lied about having the virus, and delayed his own treatment just like his fellow citizen that brought it to Nigeira.
Its sad that A.U with all its budget cannot build one world class biocontaminant unit in west africa so that medical staff on the frontline who fall ill can be treated there, than thousand of miles away in the US.
