How Did Britain Get Rich? by richpitt(m): 12:12pm On Nov 26, 2008 |
How did the great britain become rich it's a question that has been running in my mind for a while now and i wud really appreciate u nairalanders contributions. Thanks ya'all "It may interest you to know that royals pay almost double the tax rate than their fellow countrymen. As for Elizabeth's money, well you can thank her great grandmother,Queen Victoria for that. When she ascended the throne in the early 1800's,the royal family was almost broke and was also looked down upon by the aristocracy. Victoria was the one who invested what little money the family had and it's been growing ever since" right or worng? and if right what did the grandmother invest in?waitin for ur responses ya'all

Cetainly not in one day. Britain is not proud of its history but she works hard to secure the future for the world to see. About 200 years ago, she was nothing to write home about. The concerted efforts of her citizens turned the tides. |

Magz: The world isn't sometype of utopia, so for right now African countries should play the same game instead of falling in the last place. |

sjeezy8: Wrong! This same "game" odviously does not work well in other parts of the world. And like the saying goes, "You can't fool what you follow". chic2pimp: No. It's called facts and history. The "Great" British were some of the worst pillagers and oppressors of The Earth. ANYONE Knows that!! The British had colonies in America, India, Nigeria, Jamaica, The Virgin Islands, Australia, South Africa, and on & on. And then the question was asked how Britain got rich. This was how they did it! They went all around the world raping different lands of their people, wealth and natural resources. Then whenever the populace grew strong enough or bold enough to revolt (or when there was nothing left to loot and plunder), they would pull out (Like they did in India and in the Carribean. How is it hate and jealousy to acknowledge this? It's facts you can open up most history books to find. |
