I want you to understand that success dose not just come by what you do, is not what you do that make you a success. Success basically answers by who you are. Most times, success come when you add value to yourself and by extension to others, Incase you do not know, people pay you for value you give to them, it is value that brings about success, where there is no value, there is no success.

Psalms 1:1-3 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the paths of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper (NKJV). This place talks about Habits, it first took time to describe what the man is not doing and also took time to describe what he does (that’s his habit). His delight (his habits) is that he sits down with the word of God day and night, discovering principles, discovering secrets and discovering treasures and meditates on it day and night and whatever he does shall prosper, whether he is selling pure water, it doesn’t matter, whereas the man has inculcated in himself the habit for success, anything he goes out to do must be successful. Success is not all about what you are doing, is about who you are.
They sold Joseph always into potiphar’s house and he prospered, they took to him to prison he prospered, took him away from the prison throw him into the palace, he prospered, those three places was not what made him to prosper, it was who Joseph was. Your success begins with you.

Proverb 22:2 The rich and the poor have this in common, the Lord is the maker of them all (NKJV). Initially I use to think is God that makes someone rich and is God that makes someone poor, NO, the rich and the poor meet together, that means, everywhere you go, failure and success goes together, you will see a man that failed and see a man that succeeded. What I am saying is that, anytime you do a research in any community, you will definitely see successful people there and failures too, they all meet together on a daily basis. The other part, the Lord is the maker of them all, in other words, we are all equally created, He created all of us equally, we all came naked, we all came with the same brain cell, we all came with the same opportunities (in different ways), but what makes someone rich and what makes someone poor is “HABITS” there is what someone is doing right that will eventually make him rich and there is what someone is doing wrong that will eventually make him poor. We are equally created but we determine our placement in life, if you fail is your fault, when you see people that things are not working well for them and they blame there, family background, lack of Education, Father, Mother and there Uncle the person is a lazy fool, don’t blame anybody for anything because I have seen people that came out from a very poor family but today they are very rich and successful and also have seen people that came from a very rich family but today they are rooming around the streets doing nothing, some have gone back to there various villages in shame, nothing to show for.

You can only change your destine when you change your bad habits, until you change your bad habit you cannot change your destine. You don’t decide your destine, you decide your habits and your habits determines your destine. Most men that succeeded, check them very well. It was said concerning this great man MKO Abiola, that he wakes up 3 o’clock every morning to think before every other person (HABIT), he was not a Christian, he had results, he thinks and ponders about his next step to take. If you check every successful man there is a way they use time, the successful stays awake when the failures are sleeping to plan to think on there next move.

Isaiah 37:31 And the remnant who have escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruits upward (NKJV). Your root is what affects your fruits, every time a man want to see something new, he most be willing to do something new. Insanity is when you are doing something the same way and you expect a different result, that is a mad man. There are certain habits or characters that you most deliberately inculcate into your life if you most enjoy success

Those who know the way, the working knowledge of how to succeed, naturally succeed, is not money that makes someone successful, it is the brain, the wisdom. Give a foolish man one billion naira to start a business today, the next one month he is on the street begging, give a man of wisdom 20 thousand naira to start a business, the next one year he is counting millions, so it not the money, is the wisdom in him.

Let’s go to the animal kingdom and learn certain wisdom habits from four little creatures. When we learn these habits and impart it into our lives we will naturally succeed. Proverb 30: 24 There are four things which are little on the earth, but they are exceedingly wise: the ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their food in the summer; the rock badgers are a feeble folk, yet they make their homes in the crags; the locusts have no king, yet they all advance in ranks; the spiders skillfully grasps with its hands, and it is in kings’ palaces (NKJV). The Ants teaches us wisdom and one of the vital things we need to succeed in life is wisdom. Proverb 6:6-8, Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise, which, having no captain, overseer or ruler, provides her supplies in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest (NKJV). We want to go to the ant to learn something and when we know these things and we put it into our lives as habits, the sky is not our limit but the starting point.

The first thing I will like you to understand about the ant is;

1. THE ANTS ARE GOAL SETTERS
The ants are successful because they set goals, they have a goal, they say among themselves, every summer we must put aside food for the winter, that’s a goal. why not during the spring, why not during autumn, why did they choose summer? they choose it because, summer is usually a time of harvest, that is when there is abundant of food. Winter is one of the severe weathers they have in the western world, like here in Nigeria we have raining season, there are sometimes in Nigeria we have 7 days rainfall, most times we stay in doors, during winter period it is really cold, snow everywhere, most animals stays in there holes, so when summer approaches, the ant sets a target, lets start putting things aside for the winter. Until you are a goal setter, you can never be a goal getter. Many people are not successful in life because they don’t have goals, don’t have purpose, they are not looking forward to achieving anything, so anything happens to them. What is your goal in life? Some of us now are just thanking God to enter the New Year, What is your goal for the New Year? If you don’t have goals for 2009, it will not be different from 2008, you are just counting years, you are not counting impacts. GOAL!! is what makes a man successful, you say to yourself, by next year as the Lord liveth this and this are my goals for my life for the new year, as soon as you enter January you start working them out, you are on your way to succeed. When you don’t have goals in life, you are like a goat, those who don’t have goals lives like goats, that is why some people when they wake up in the morning, they walk from one place to another, no aim, no purpose
