Among the numerous arguments people raise about Covenant university is the amount the students pay as school fees. But however, taking an open minded view on this issue, one will come to realize that covenant university is in fact, one of the cheapest standard universities in Nigeria. With an average tuition fee of 650,000 per session, the university ranks as one of the lowest charging privately owned Universities in the the country, with Baze university and AUN charging more than double the said amount. First and foremost, the tuition covers everything apart from the feeding. When broken down, it translates to 325,000 per semester. The school maintains a 24 hour supply of water, electricity and internet service. Calculating the cost of diesel alone to power a school of that size for 24 hours is horrendous. Then they have professors they have to over pay for living the the cozy comfort and security of a public university to lecture in a private university. Of course, all 34 programs offered by the university are fully Accredited by NUC and other relevant accrediting bodies. Also, maintaining infrastructure regularly requires a lot of cash. Don't mind these hungry nairalanders who can't afford the fees but always bad-mouthing the school. I was shocked to hear from a family friend the school has 24 hour electricity and internet service. That would make it one of the few institutions in Nigeria where ironing clothes is never a problem and additional knowledge is ever available via the internet.
