The former head of the Somerset Racial Equality Council has been convicted of fraud after stealing another man's identity.

The man who claimed to be David Onamade was also found guilty of trying to claim benefits and possessing documents for use in connection with fraud.

The jury at Taunton Crown Court heard he managed to get hold of the identity of the real David Onamade, 52, an autistic man from London.

He was found guilty of all charges.

The court was told he had lived with another man's identity for more than 20 years.

The jury found him found guilty of three charges of fraudulently trying to claim benefits and two charges of possessing documents - a birth certificate and a driving licence - for use in connection with fraud.

Good he's caught....he's a foolish man.
He should have moved out of UK since to another EU country and start a new life there...nobody will think much about him there...he's too confident thinking he can never be caught.

Nobody said what he did was right.. Am just saying since he's smart enough to used another man identity for almost 20 years, he should be smart enough to know he will be caught one day in UK... Now that he's caught, what is your gain? Mr always RIGHT.

Happiness, sense of justice done and can't wait for him to get deported after spending time in prison.

The fraudster will have a miserable life anyway, at the moment nobody knows who he is, age and real name, until then he can't even claim benefit let alone getting a job.

Sad news to you guess?

The guy also deceived the mother of his kids. He only got caught when he tried to claim unemployment benefit using the national insurance number.

According to the local news the guy walked free from court due to having served his sentence whilst on remand.

Where the hell did he go
