Since the year 2000 when the federal government of Nigeria under the leadership of president Obasanjo licensed private Universities in Nigeria. Many private universities have started operations and have promised the citizens quality education in a conducive environment but yet to deliver that promise. Private Universities in Nigeria have set vision to be one of the leading universities in the world for almost ten years now and none of the private universities in nigeria is in the top 150 universities in Africa.

Annoyingly These private universities in Nigeria charge an exorbitant price as school fees. Many of these private universities charge as much as 4000 dollars to the range of 10,000 dollars and yet failed to deliver talk more becoming better than the premier university of Nigeria(University of Ibadan.)

We have seen cases where these private universities are still yet to posses a good entrepreneurship program in their curriculum, lack of professors, lack of facilities and well facilitated laboratories.

In fact i would advice a student to attend public universities in Nigeria rather than attend a private university in Nigeria where he wastes his parents money on nothing.

So u chose the mushroom private unis to attend and u'r complainin??..,U knw there are standard private unis around also ba?..,There are private secondary schls everywia too but not all are standard hence d need to shine ur eyes before applyin for one. I tink its d perrogative of a studnt to make proper findings of a schl before applyin cos even wit public unis, some are crap also. Btw.,I attended a public uni so not advocating but then some of this private schls are cool too..na moni kill am!

but does it worth it with the astronomical fee still it won't elevate or make dem to be given prefrential treatment

Hmmm.,as for d astronomical fees.,I knw some private schls fees are veri high but u gotta understand that it takes a lot to run those schls especially witout government assistance hence d use of d cash(salaries,Labs,maintenance etc)...,Am not sure wat u mean by prefrential treatment as everyone needs to proove demselves on a level playin field irrespective of schl attended..,The knowledge is d koko!

Is every schl perfect??...,havnt u been to Nysc camp where grads frm Federal schls can't fill out simple forms corectly witout errors!!..,Proficiency in a person depends on d individual oo, yea some schl aids learnin more dn others but am certain there are many good grads frm private schls as there are crap grads frm govt schls!

bro I believe filling of forms is left for the grdautes is not a menace pertinent to federal universities or the skul dey graduated from but employrs detest and abhor graduates of dis mushroom universities (private) why is it? so and u can't compare covenant uni with the likes of UI, UNilag and OAU dese universities have more quality lecturers and more prof dan dis private skuls and u know to maintain a professor is so sumptuous and exorbitant federal universities follow protocol of admission dats through jamb dey integrate the best students unlike private skuls dey integrate lacklusters, puppets and mediocres so far u are buoyant and opulent.

Looking for professors, quality lecturers and facilities? Go there and see what's on ground before you starting spewing unpleasant stuff about private schools on nairaland. bro yea u are right. Dats the only private skul. Dats its soughted after to be candid I fancy dat skul a lot but apart from convenant and bowen no any other private instittion is a force to reckon with other private skuls are in a devastating condition and are crap employers consider dem most after federal universities bowen and covenant are next dat are soughted after.

But federal university graduates are still the best no matter the impediment dey are intellectual, smart, sharp and vibrant they are making waves in the society than any other universities in nigeria the private skuls are mushroom univrsities dey pamper deir students they are spoon fed dey are treated like puppets.
