Nigerians Blame Sunday Oliseh For Nigeria's Failure To Qualify For AFCON 2017 / Joseph Yobo Uncensored! I Can’t Be A Part-Time Eagles Player / "Tb Joshua I Love You" - Screamed Ogenyi Onazi (2) (3) (4)

Lazio midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has been
faulted as part of the reason Nigeria failed
to qualify for next year’s Africa Cup of
Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
A Super Eagles player told SL10.ng on the
condition of anonymity, that the Lazio man
ignored instructions to shield the defence in
search of personal glory.
“A lot have been said about why we failed
to qualify, but most are far from the truth.
For instance why was it that we struggle
less when Hope Akpan plays in front of the
defence?” said the source.
“It's ironic that Mikel Obi best games of the
qualifiers were games that Akpan played in
as he sits and allows Obi to roam upfront
without leaving any space behind, unlike
Onazi.
“Nigerians should also ask him why he
missed training the eve of the game and
tried to lie. What family issue kept him out?”
The player pointed out that Onazi ignored
the coach’s instructions as he felt slighted
that Mikel took all the glory after the Nigeria
Afcon 2013 triumph.
“His relationship with Mikel is zero, Keshi
noticed it during preparations for the World
cup, he now wants to score goals as
opposed to his primary role,” added the
anonymous player.
“He felt Mikel got a lot of plaudits while he
was ignored despite playing a role in his
success at the Afcon 2013, he cost us the
game against South Africa.”
Both players had a public fallout in front of
the camera on the pitch in the Eagles 2-0
away win against Congo in Pointe Noire, a
situation our source said snowballed into
the South Africa game.
“Mikel is a senior player in the team and
highly experienced and for Onazi to openly
challenge him shows you how bad it is
between them,” continued the source.
“Onazi is playing under instructions to
cover for Obi who is short of pace on the
counter, but look at both South Africa goals,
where was he?
“These days he plays for himself more than
the team, you can see how he hits shots
waywardly even when a pass is a better
option, he has to grow up.”

the blame? Let us know your views in the

No time to read the long story. But again if a coach sees a player playing out of line, is it not expected that he substitute him?? I smell keshi creating some distraction.#keshimustgo!!

Pls what are you saying for God sake.Mind you this is super eagle not chelsea team where Mikel shield the defense. It is the duty of Onazi to do that not Mikel. The same Keshi you are castigating, used the same formation to win Afcon.

Same cry I have made since the match we played against the USA. Many criticized Mikel for shouting at Onazi. However, Onazi left his role. Many like Onazi for his work rate, but his tactical discipline caused the team to fall from the friendlies of the World Cup until now.

It was sad Hope Akpan injured but more sad Joseph Nathaniel did not replace Onazi. Joseph Nathaniel should have started that match against South Africa. He would have shielded our defence from the force of Rantie.

Always anonymous shocked.... If Nigeria had qualified, am sure this anonymous would've kept quiet. Well the anonymous didn't lie but I think this is medicine after death, most of our players became big and pride took over them because they felt they're indispensable or irreplaceable in the team.

I guess the coaching crew have learnt their lessons, good for them they'll still remain with the team but it'll be worst if they fail to correct the mistakes and the players.

Yeah. Emenike is also one of those to blamed. He couldn't get one shot on target against south africa. The only treat he presented was to sucessfully head and direct the ball striaght into the arms of the south african goalkeeper.
He had been performing poorly, for both club and country.

Since he has no potentials to show, I think he should be droped outta the S.E alongside the likes of Egwuekwe and some other players that has nothing more to offer.
