Now nairaland has lost it fun, the first to comment thrill is gone, good advice has been exhausted...and almost predictably any topic makes front page

Did you just said "the first to comment thrill is gone"? That childish attitude and spacebookers is what is ruining Nairaland! The rate at which the frontpage is updated isn't alarming, Rather the rate at which people rush in with their useless comments is alarming. What do you gain from being the first to comment? Why don't you leave the thread alone if you have nothing meaningful to offer.

I was about to post this same thread. Kudos for your observation. I do not think it is Seun . He is educated and more experienced to do such.

Remember the recent advert for a super MOD? I guess the inexperienced guy he employed is in charge. Unfortunately, he would have employed me, as I am an experienced Journalist and Internet specialist.

Sincerely, the high increase of homepage topics is really alarming. Something has to be done Mr Seun

I've been working hard to motivate my staff to update the home page regularly. This is because I believe that more updates will make Nairaland more interesting. However, the perception that the home page is updated too frequently is there, and Iwill try to address it soon.

At first people were complaining
that frontpage topic are not interesting,
frontpage topics are dry,
then why does it take Seun long to move topics to front page,
then why are the topics on front page stale,
then why does it take Seun long to update front page.

When you post rubish comments simply because you have nothing reasonable to say at a particular time, then you are bringing down the site's reptutation. Lets join hands with the mods to make NL a world class and satisfying forum.

I'll also advise a thread stay some time in its section before it graces the home page... except perhaps it's a breaking news. This is to allow for some insightful posts before space bookers ruin it... it's annoying seeing a thread bastardized because of their thirst to make front page.

It's better the way it is now. Stop complaining necessarily.

It's not even just about the content but the pace. The threads are moved too fast. I understand the need to update the front page every now and then, but seriously it's not Twitter! Can you guys pls slow down a bit? I'm sure it's not a competition.

Honestly, I enjoy many of the topics but I get turned off when I log in and find about 15 posts on FP waiting to be opened. I log in after another 30 minutes and find 8. Hian! Perhaps, you guys just want us to skim through and spend less time here.
