Adebayor won,na caf know d kind criteria wen dem use,cos
if it was based on form, club achievement, national team perf and
contribution to the african game, the winner certainly would be
aboutrika on merit.supersport and all well meaning individuals concurs.

I ve been wondering what this guy's name was since i listened to his kind of
music on board kenyan airways until i watched him perf live last night at d awards,
youssou ndour,,

Re: GLO - CAF Awards 2008 by DrKitaun(m): 8:16pm On Feb 14, 2009
but seriously I wonder why all these unwarranted Aboutreka shyte embarassed

talk of a local champion grin . . .let him go to the advanced leagues and show himself good enough before anyone serious should rate him higher than Adebayor that stormed the whole world with his wonderful goals and overwhelming contribution (37% of Arsenal's goals haul) in A DROGBA-LIKE MANNER EARLY LAST SEASON . . . how many African players can achieve it or best put have achieved that ?

has Obafemi Martins ever scored 20 goals in his career ?
the YAK ?
how many did almighty JJ Okocha score when he became BBC African fooballer of the year ?
didnt Amir Zaki start off very good in the EPL this season ? where is he now ?

FOR NOW . .Aboutreka is a local champion until he goes out of his zone of comfort and mesmerize the whole world . . .WHO REMEMBERS DOS SANTOS WHO DAZZLED IN 2004 and is no where to be found today in footie yarns even across AFRICA ? shocked

CAF FOOTbBALLER of the year wasnt ever gonna be won by a local player since the emphasis had always been on foreign export which is quite unlike the European case where u have had Weah, Ronaldinho winning their awards . . .

Adebayor deserved his award having scored 30 goals in an Arsenal team that was hitherto reliat on Henry for goals . . .in a a season where everything almost looked to go comatose for Arsenal after having led the league standings for a long period . . .
Re: GLO - CAF Awards 2008 by Cristalz(f): 12:08am On Feb 15, 2009
I used to think CAF meant Confederation of African Football. . . I also used to think the African Cup Of Nations actually meant something. . .

Guess I was wrong. Oh well. . .bullshit abounds in Africa, that's for sure tongue
Re: GLO - CAF Awards 2008 by Nobody: 7:42am On Feb 17, 2009
Criz,
Serious BULLSHIT.
And the way some people are praising the award makes me wonder if somebrain cells in some people's heads are missing.
CAF did a major disservice to their credibility with this award.
Last year, a foolish CAF admitted that if Drogba did not attend last year's ceremony,he would not get the award.
So how can they tell me they have anything like a credible award anymore?A Drogba who was preparing for the Quarter finals of the Nations Cup?

Come on.

HNIC,eldee,Dmajesty,please do some thinking.
Yes,your gay has won the "award",but he hardly deserves it,unless the Nations Cup doesn't count anymore for CAF.
please respond to that, becuse you palm-kernel brains refuse to face that fact.
I daresay this African Footballer of the year award means nothing anymore. Not with the way CAF has been handling it over the past few years.
CAF then institues a best player for the continent awad.
My God,isn't that ridiculous?Does Europe give an award for their best player overseas? An award is an award,so CAF should stop minimizing the prestige (or whatever is left of it) of the so-called awards. An aboutrika who wins the Nations Cup,who wins the CAF champions League (the only thing the trio of crack-heads want to attack) is relegated to a consolation prize while mediocre Adebayor (who is yet to win anything of note except playing the Mafia/Rebel leader vs Togo FA) who comes third on the scorer's chart in England wins it.
I rest my case.
CAF can go to hell, along with the three mediocres
Re: GLO - CAF Awards 2008 by HNIC(m): 10:24am On Feb 17, 2009
@ Eastbay.
I have a gut feeling that Aboutreka is your sponsor.
He must also be paying for your internet access.
You left the other thread tro come to this place again to spew more nonsense
I wont have responded to this shit, if not become you keep mentioning my name.
WTF?

Live with it.
Aboutreka came 2nd,
Are you such an idiot?
Adebayor came 3rd on the scorers chart in England?
CAF admitted that if Drogba didnt attend the ceremony he won't get the awards?

You just keep posting rubbish that dont make sense to justify why Aboutreka should win and not Ade
Ade was 2nd behind Ronaldo last year.
Even a 7 year old Mongolian knows that.
It was Didier Drogba that told the entire world that CAF said if he didnt attend the award, they will give it to someone else.
See Yeastbay,You are becoming an irritant
Are you not tired of this Aboutreka issue?
Really, go and jump into a lagoon and drown there to protest the award to humanity
Mankind won't miss you.
Even Aboutreka(who doesn't give a f#@k about you) would also be happy!
At least, you won't be miliking him dry for money again!
Idiot

Re: GLO - CAF Awards 2008 by Nobody: 12:52pm On Feb 17, 2009
Dummy.
CR7 had 31 goals in the Premier league
Adebayor and Torres were tied for 24.
That makes them joint third.
Ignorance is really a serious disease.
See the pillow-head I've been trading words with.
