Transmitted Infections (TIs)

One of the common ways through which infection in human are transmitted is through the exchange of blood. Transmitted Infections (TIs) represent one of the major health problems which are the chief causes of illness and sometimes death; hence, the socio- economic consequence. Infections contracted through exchange of blood could be any of the followings :


1) Genital herp : this infection has no known cure and continues to resurface after being treated. Any babies infected during child birth suffer severe brain damage or may even die.


2) Genital wart: this, in male, grows around the male genital organ and in female, it can grow around the vulva, cervix and around the anus it sometimes result to cancer of the cervix and sterility.


3) Syphilis : this is another disease which is pass on through exchange of blood. It causes damages to the heart, brain, spinal cord and other organs. It sometimes results to death of the infected person.


4) Pubic lice : this is another infection which is transmitted trough exchange of blood. Pubic lice are blood sucking crab like organism which is about the size of a pin head. They are usually lurked in the pubic hair where they cause itching, discomfort and possibly anaemia. continue reading here...
