Paramount Pictures announced on Tuesday that "Star Trek 3" Franchise featuring Captain Kirk and the crew of the USS Enterprise, will be released in U.S. theatres on July 8, 2016, according to Reuters.

The release which will unite the old and the new 'Trek' as it coincide with the 50th anniversary of the original "Star Trek" series where William Shatner, starred as Kirk and Leonard Nimoy as the pointy-eared First Officer Spock.

This Star Trek franchise will be directed by Justin Lin, the director of "Fast and Furious".According to boxofficemojo.com, the "Star Trek' films have earned more than $1.2 billion ( 222 Billion Naira) at the U.S. box office since 1979.
