With the release of Android 5.0, the most popular and used operating system has become 64-bit ready. Some devices like the recently released Meizu M1 note , and HTC Desire 510 are already using 64 bit chip which are capable of processing 64-bit code. Samsung has begun production of 8 gigabit (1 Gigabyte) LPDRR4 memory chips specially deisgned for mobile devices which will undoubtedly spurred most flagship phones and tablets to have a 4GB of RAM.

According to Samsung tomorrow, these new 8 gigabit (1 Gigabyte) chips are produced at a 20 nm microarchitecture which will be able to process the data faster and consume less energy. The RAM’s throughput speed will increase to an impressive 1.2 gigabytes per second, which is in effect faster than older generation DDR3 modules in traditional desktop computers. Production of smaller 2 and 3 gigabit versions of these chips also begun earlier this month. According to Samsung, 2 GB chips use 40% less power than the LPDDR3 chips already in use in publicly available smartphones.

The chips will be available in the first quarters of 2015 and we are likely to see flagships phones with 4GB RAM popping up at the Mobile World Congress. We believed increased RAM size will be a heavily emphasized factors in commercials as the new year spring forth.
