I use the internet in a town called Bogije, far down along Lekki Epe expressway. And none of these providers has coverage up to that area.

Only VISAPHONE

I disagree with mtn being up to 6mps here in naija, especially without 4g, on my etisalat sim via 3g, I experience speeds of up to 2.35 mps, hardly does my mtn get into 1mps on same 3g, even when right next to an mtn mast
Re: Top 20 Fastest Internet Providers In Nigeria by Emmanuel247(m): 11:01pm On Dec 26, 2014
I don't agree with this.

The List contains many Flaws.. Imagine MTN,SMILE and SWIFT coming before MIGHT MAIN ONE CABLE... I seriously doubt it, with jacked up(less than 40% WIFI signal) network on MAINONE CABLE I still get Close to 1MEGABYTE per SECOND.. So I don't know how MTN without submarine CABLE will beat em.. I stand to be corrected though

If this speed is really from a naija ISP, then it's definitely the fastest i have seen in naija. at this speed, your downlink speed is probably around 90 to 100mb/s. Is Main One cable available nationwide or just In Lagos?

@musicwriter how do i upgrade Spectranet from 2MB to 4MB?
musicwriter:
I'm also using spectranet and it broadcasts at 2Mbps regular or you can upgrade to 4Mbps. It's more economical.

Please contact them. As at the time I got the information, all that was required was paying for a business package or something like that.

In Nigeria today, we do have so many Internet Service Providers with different strengths and weakness. It will be wrong for us to compare Tier 2 networks with Tier 3 Networks. Ex. Comparing MainOne Cable (Tier 2) with Spectranet 4G LTE (Tier 3) (Though Mainone is a Tier 2 as well as a Tier 3 Network). They do have their major differences and different audiences. You do not expect a multinational Company to depend on 4G LTE dongles for Internet, They would definitely go for a Fixed dedicated Internet. Having made some clarifications above and based on factors like Speed, Link Deployment, Coverage and Customer Service Convenience.

Here's how i Would Rank the Top Best Internet Service Providers in Nigeria in 2017

eStream Networks

Swift Communications

Wifi Ng

Spectranet

IPNX

Layer3

Smile

CyberSpace

BACKBONE INTERNET PROVIDER

ACE (Africa Coast to Europe)

MainOne Cable

MTN

DOLPHIN TELECOMS

Glo SUB MARINE CABLES

NB: It should be noted that this aren't the only internet service provider In Nigeria, There are quite a number of them In Nigeria. The speed of all networks are dependents on so many factors such as your closeness to their base stations, Mode of connectivity, etc

May be some would find this useful. As for me, I would appreciate it if you'd provide the empirical data on which your selections were made? For example, what are/were the various throughputs/download/upload speeds on which the rankings were made, where, and by who?

Arming readers with such info will be inherently useful, and should certainly help an end user such as yours truly make informed decisions as to which Internet service provider(s) to next pitch my tent with, for instance.

Thanks in advance.
