The wife of Oba Lamure Ayelomi of Ayeka in Okitipupa area of Ondo state, Olori Dupe was found dead 10 days after she was abducted. According to reports gathered, she was allegedly murdered after her abductors collected N2 million ransom from the monarch. Vanguard reports that her corpse was found where her abductors asked the family to bring the ransom to. Information gathered revealed that the Olori was abducted by five gunmen at her residence along Erinje Road, Okitipupa. After two days, the abductors, contacted the family demanding for N30 million. The family pleaded with the kidnappers to consider the economic situation in the country and bring down the ransom. The abductors reluctantly agreed to take N2 million which according to Police sources caused disagreeement among the kidnappers that the amount was too little. Later, the kidnappers asked the family to come with the ransom to pick the Olori at Sagamu in Ogun state, then they changed it to Ode-Aye in Okitipupa lga of Ondo state. After waiting at the designated spot till 3a.m. on the day, the family left without the Olori. The following day, however, the family organized a search party and her corpse was later found in the outskirts of Ode-Aye, along Ore Road. One of the deceased’s children, Taye, who spoke with reporters said the incident had devastated the family of the monarch. Her corpse has been moved to the Okitipupa mortuary. The kidnap and murder was confirmed by the State Police PRO, Wole Ogodo, who assured the public that the killers will soon be arrested and brought to book.
