Good day nairaland ,
I bought a HTC one some time back , it's on at and t network and it was unlocked when I bought it , I have been using it smoothly for about 4 months now , until a week back when it started misbehaving , each time a text message comes in , it freezes the phone for sometime , then it comes back to normal , this happened for about two days and I tried deleting apps and unnecessary files thinking it's memory problems, however it didn't stop but got worse , the next phase started when I noticed the freezing required me to forcefully reset the phone by holding down power button for long , this worked for about a day , and on one occasion it happened and didn't when I forcefully restarted it , it didn't get pass the HTC logo , it just stays there , then reset itself .
I have tried everything I know , including hard reset three times but I can't seem to get it to work.
I read about it on Google and the things I'm seeing there are too advanced for me .

Is there anyone on nairaland that understands what's going on and can fix it ?
Or knows a tested technician who can ?

Hi, if you're in Lagos, take it to computer village...the os might be corrupt.

I'm not In Lagos at the moment . But will be this week , but computer village is a big place , do u know anyone who is good in this ?

When you get to computer village, locate a phone shop called 'Affordables'...when you enter, just meet any of the computer guys sitted and explain your problem to them.

remove your memory card and try again.

HTC one has no space for memory card

Ok I read more about it online , someone had a similar issue and was able to solve it by locking the phone , flashing with a ruu , and putting back a Rom in it .

I don't know how to do these things hence my seeking help here

Note that I took it to a technician in benin yesterday evening and he was just saying nonsense , that it's 50/50 it might get totally bad and this and that , so I just took my phone back from him cos I know once they start sounding like that they don't know what they are doing

still open to suggestions , although I got a galaxygalaxy's grand prime yesterday son in not in a haste , but would still love to fix my HTC back.

The guys in Benin obviously can't fix it , so I'm hoping I can do it when in Lagos

just download the ruu stockrom, and flash it via adb shell, if the phone still boots on, then enable usb debugging, mount a twrp img file via flashify. i believe the phone was rooted and bootloader unlocked? you can easily fix it, just be calm and try to understand the process bro.

I'm not familiar with the apps u just talked about , never used them before . Even if I decide to experiment , I may not have the time to do it for now.
