Please is it adviseable to travel from Lagos to Abuja with a new Hyundai Elantra 2014?

I have done this with Honda Accord 2003 (EOD) in 2012.

Has anyone done this before?

Sure becuase I use a 2012 Kia Cerato, which has the same engine with the Elantra. I have done Abuja - Lagos several time with my Kia cerato without any issues. Forget all the issues you hear, just service your car and get on the road, you will be surprised how great the car will perform.

So u forget that a new car is better than a tokumbo car for such a trip. Why do most transporters now use new Chinese/IVM buses instead of Tokumbo Toyota hiace buses? A new car's engine is better than a tokumbo car engine, but it depends on the cars u r comparing shaa.

I have been using my office Cerato from 2008 till now. I must confess it is better than the Toyota corolla I also use. No offence intended to Toyota lovers.

If I am in Houston, I wouldn't have asked such a question because most of the highways are in good shape and I have also noticed that I don't really see much of Elantra models on my way from Lagos to Ibadan (Though I see kia cerato a lot)

the only thing to worry is the roads

I do lagos- bauchi(1,050km) once every month with my kia rio 07. What you should bother about is not the car, but LG bois on the road, they love cars that are bought brand new.
