hey everyone i was chatting with a friend on facebook this morning and she sent a text that ''she was still on bed''. I want to know if that is correct or it is the other way round ''still in bed'' . Need answer please |
Re: Correct? by braine(m): 9:59am On Jan 10, 2015 |
"Still in bed" is absolutely correct. When one goes on a bed, one goes 'in'. Same goes for being 'in' a tree and sitting 'in' a chair. |

Its still on bed. In is used when you are in the cover of something. Eg, am IN the house. Am IN the car. While ON is used when you are on top of something. Eg, am ON the roof. Am ON the chair or table. |

Both are grammatically correct but semantically different. Still on bed means you are lying on your bed as at that material time.Still in bed means you are in your bedroom relaxing which may be sitting on a chair or whatever posture inside the bedroom |
