1. Ingrained an art of independence into me.
a) Have a mind of my own, b) decision maker, c) a doer not follower.

2. It's okay to be vulnerable but don't wallow in it for pity. Get up and MOVE ON!

3. Accord Respect to folks 2 years older and up ( that I struggle with)

4. Regardless of achievement, my husband should ALWAYS come first.

He taught me to stand still and take my punishment, to never run from the cane.

He taught me to always wash the white clothes first.

He taught me to never expect a thank you for my good deeds.

He taught me to never be ashamed of hard work or people seeing me do it.

He taught me to buy a bottle of my girl's favourite drink and put in the fridge so I can offer her after any argument.

He taught me to always watch 9 o clock news. He didn't succeed in this.

He taught me how to sneak into someone's room unnoticed. I practiced with his room a lot.

He taught me that medicine was not candy.

He taught me to abhor alcohol. And I did, at least until my post-university days.

He taught me how to be independent especially with my finances.
