BENIN—TEN months after families of the victims of
March 15, 2014, Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS,
recruitment stampede were promised employment
by the Federal Government, an appeal has gone to
President Goodluck Jonathan from families in Edo
State to fulfill his pledge.
Addressing newsmen in Benin at the premises of
Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, in Benin yesterday,
spokesman for the group, Mr. Edmund Osumah,
alleged that information at their disposal indicated
that the names of the original victims, which were
documented in the hospitals they were rushed to by
officials of the FRSC and NIS, were now being
substituted with names of those that were not
victims.
He said: “Sadly, it is now over 10 months since Mr.
President, in an attempt to remove despair and bring
hope to the NIS victims and their families, issued the
directive and none of the victims from the
recruitment disaster has heard as much as a whimper
from the NIS, Ministry of Internal Affairs or the
Federal Government.”
He lamented that families of the victims were still
living in despair, pains and trauma, arising from the
way the Presidency was handling the issue.
They lamented that in a decent society, Mr. Abba
Moro, who had earlier taken responsibility for the
incident, ought to have resigned his appointment.

It's indeed pathetic. I know how it feels when one falls into such situation of expecting unrealistic promises. Meanwhile I am sure the likes of Doyin and Reuben will address the press soon for denial of promise by the presidency...

Don't expect much from the clueless president, just take heart.
