Lagos, Nigeria comes in second place with the highest number of purchases made for Chelsea’s club jerseys in 2014, According to Sports Direct. Sports Direct an online retailer, released the stats highlighting Lagos as being the second highest place for global sales of Chelsea shirts in the past year. It is an astonishing claim, owing to the fact that the only city that beat Lagos is London, the city where Chelsea Football Club is located. Lagos according to survey accounted for 8.43% of shirts bought by Chelsea fans in 2014, more than any other British city except London. London has the highest number, with the percentage of shirts sold in the city being 56.30%. It is not really surprising that Lagos has emerged as the city with the second highest percentage of fans to buy Chelsea’s jerseys.
