A boy has been arrested on charges of murder after allegedly killing his grandfather because he told him to find a job, police in Japan have said.
The 17-year-old boy was arrested by Saitama
Police on Thursday, after being accused of
killing his 73-year-old grandfather by
suffocating him with a blanket.
According to the police investigation, around
1:30 p.m. on Thursday, an argument broke out
between the boy, who was not identified, and
his grandfather.
The boy showed up at a police station around
7:00 p.m., and confessed to killing his
grandfather.
According to the police, officers found the dead
body of the grandfather wrapped in a blanket in
his bedroom.
Detectives believe that the boy choked his
grandfather to death. During questioning, the
boy told police that he was angry with his
grandfather because he told him to get a job.
