A mass protest by Nigerian workers is currently going on at the National Headquarters of the Nigerian Labour Congress NLC. Nigerian workers are demanding refund of their equity contribution for a failed Kriston Lally/NLC housing project. About two years ago, the Nigerian Labour Congress entered into a partnership with a private developer, Kriston Lally to provide affordable housing for Nigerian workers. But NLC partnership with the private developer has obviously failed to live up to the expectations of the workers with accusation and counter accusation between raging between NLC and the private developer. Now for over six months now, the workers have been demanding refund of their money. NLC President, Comrade Omar Abdulwahid is at the center of the perceived fraud against the Nigerian worker and has refused to come and address Nigerian workers who have besieged the NLC National Secretariat this morning.
