One thing is to win a contract of dash-dash-dash amount to build an app for an organization or institution, another thing is - the entity called Continuity with an engraved word called Maintenance.

Some notorious clients might want a developer to build an app be it web or stand-alone, that he/she will have 100% control over without the need or support of the developer, in other to jump and pass the 'gutter' of MAINTENACE FEES.

The question is, how will a hustling freelance programmer feed?

An Application or Software is a Product. A Product needs improvement or constant versioning for a better experience.

As a programmer, I discovered that when you create a new software, at that time it looks great. But when you visit it after sometime, you'll start seeing many flaws, and ideas start flying into your brain to make it better.

The creator of a Masterpiece such as software, has seen the unclothedness and knows all the Private parts by name. So Mr. Client, build a long-term business relationship with him. He must come from time to time, to update his program - not for free of course.

I can tell you this, most Nigerians prefer to pay millions of naira to satiate the greedy monster called Pleasure and are not ready to pay the price for TECHNOLOGY.

Technological apathy or negligence, will make Nigeria subject to lots of ABUSE by the few Tech-Elites, who lurk in this country.
