Angels sang melodious songs
Heralding the birth of a prince
The prince of peace

Where there was anarchy
His coming brought peace and order
Where there was sorrow
He came to restore Joy
Where there was lack
He came to give us abundance

As if it was not enough
He shed his own precious blood
That we may have life
Abundant life

What a tragedy
That millions still go about
Looking for Joy
In the wrong places
When all they need to do
Is heed his passionate call

And are heavy laden

Of mankind
