able to call upon the
services of Steven
Naismith and Muhamed
Besic for the trip to
London, with both
players expected to
shrug off neck and leg
injuries respectively,
whilst Aiden McGeady
and Leighton Baines may be given late fitness tests
after the pair sat out of Saturday’s Merseyside
derby.
The Spaniard is also still without Leon Osman,
Steven Pienaar , Tony Hibbert and Tim Howard ,
despite the American being given the green light to
resume full training after his calf injury.
Jose Mourinho will be without Spanish pair Diego
Costa (suspension) and Cesc Fabregas (hamstring
injury), whilst Filipe Luis continues to recover from
a calf injury sustained two weeks ago.

Trips to Stamford Bridge have not been kind to the
Toffees throughout the years – the Blues having
only tasted victory on 12 visits to South West
London. The last league victory that Everton
recorded over Wednesday’s hosts was back in
November 1994, with Paul Rideout’s first half
strike was the difference between the sides.
Everton have secured wins against Chelsea in four
of the last ten league and cup encounters,
including a FA Cup fourth round tie which the
Merseyside outfit won 4-3 on penalties following a

the deficit on the stroke of half time.
Seamus Coleman‘s own goal restored the
Pensioners’ two goal advantage with twenty five
minutes remaining, before Steven Naismith’s
nodded goal reduced the deficit once more.

Eto ‘o and Ramires all traded goals within a three
minute spell. Diego Costa’s second of the afternoon
rounded off the scoring to ensure that attendees
received their money’s worth on a warm Saturday
evening.

Chelsea: Eden Hazard. The Belgian winger has been in
imperious form throughout the current campaign,
with 13 goals and 7 assists to his name thus far.
The 24 year old has linked up superbly with fellow
midfielders Willian and Oscar in recent weeks, and
the Toffees will do well to hinder Hazard’s silky
performances.
Everton: John Stones . The 20 year old’s return to the
starting lineup has coincided with just one goal
being conceded in four league matches for
Martinez’s outfit, and the promising youngster’s
composure on the ball will be required against a
side who will press high up the pitch.
