Corruption At Its Peak: Unijos Students To Pay 12, 000 Each For 'damages'. by noskyboy(m): 2:17pm On Feb 16, 2015
The management of the university of Jos, has finally agreed to re-open the school after was closed indefinately after the students protested the unjustifiable charges that was imposed on them by the school's management. The university's management have come to a conclusion that all students must pay 12,000 naira each for damages or would not be allowed to move back into the hostel or write exams which is scheduled for 23rd feb. Exactly a week from today.
This new development, has further proved the level of wickedness, insensitivity and corruption in our high institutions. Thousands of students are asked to pay 12k each within one week for damages, that wont amount up to 500k at most 1million naira. The management didnt release the list and prices of things they claimed were damaged, in order to justify thier charges, they just sat down and decided to met out wickedness on students fighting for thier right.
This wickedness did not end at that, the SUG officials were suspended and the SUG was dissolved, without any chance given to the SUG officials to defend themselves. This is a calculated attempt to cripple the students ability to mobilize and protest against their unjust acts.
This act by the university of Jos' vc and his cohorts must be condemned and resisted. So i urge all Nigerian students everywhere, to raise their voices againstt this sort of wickedness and injustice done by those managing our institutions. ALUTA CONTINUA!
