I am really amazed at what some people are capable of. Despite the financial hardships in this country, some people are still struggling to meet ends. Such is the case of this lady that I know. This lady has an ongoing house project and in order to ease this project and to save money, she felt it important to dig a well at the construction site since water was a problem in that area. After spending a lot of money on the well, it was finally completed. Lucky for her there was just about enough water in the well. At the completion of the well, residents in the area resorted to the well as their water source. The lady wasn't offended by this,on the contrary, she was pleased that the well created a source of relief for the people who previously had to go miles on search of water. Later the lady needed to do a little work on her building project as she had abandoned it for a while. She needed water for the work. Since the residents in the area always fetch d well dry, she felt the need to lock it so that when the bricklayers arrive, they would have water to work with. But it was a shocker the following morning when the lady received a call that the well had been vandalized. Whoever did it first tried to break the lock but couldn't, tried prying the cover open but didn't succeed too. He then finally resorted to chipping away the cement which had been used to seal cover top of the well with well rings. He succeed in doing that. He then slid the cover off the well. I am really surprised that someone would go all that length to destroy someone else's property just for water. I wonder what such a person would to government property. 1 Like
