Here comes Danny, a mischievous smile plastered across his face as he ambled into Classy Chops. It was around eleven in the morning, too early for the fast-food to be peopled. A beautiful female attendant opened the door as he walked up to it.
“Welcome to Classy Chops.” She flashed a lovely, pre-programmed smile.
“Thanks, honey.” He winked at her and strolled away to the counter. Tina was on duty. She flashed a knowing smile and cocked her head to one side to ask “Why are you here by this time?”
“Postponed lectures. They are in a senate meeting.”
“Alright. And they locked the library as well,” she joked.
“Don’t feel like it today.” He looked at the two other girls either side of Tina. They looked very serious with jealousy. Danny hadn’t even said Hi. He didn’t really care. He had little patience with girls who felt like they hung the moon and should be worshipped. Like all the women he took interest in, he had immediately asked them – and others at Classy Chops – out and they had mistaken him for a guy blessed with the patience of a mountain climber. He had immediately closed their case files and moved on to Tina. Tina had given him less stress. Two out of the five days that followed the day he told Tina his mind, she came to work from his house. They had bathed together to further sell her the dummy of his feelings for her.
“So…?” she started saying.
“Fried rice and chicken, please. I haven’t had breakfast.”
“OK.” Tina turned round to get his order. “Should I add Chivita Drink?” she asked, her back still turned to him.
“No. Hollandia Milk and water. I have to replenish lost resources, you know?”
“Bad boy,” she laughed.
“You can say that again.” He tapped out a rhythm on the marbled counter-top with his car keys while he waited for his food. It came with the usual smile. He paid, asked her to keep the change and carried it to a table near the window. He loosened his belt and started dealing with the food.
