Google is cracking down on adult content on its Blogger platform.

Although the tech giant will not delete blogs containing sexually-explicit content, Google has said it will make all such content private — meaning it will no longer be visible to the public — as of March 23.

The change comes with the company’s new content policy — one that will allow nudity only in artistic, educational, documentary or scientific contexts.

After the deadline, blogs with sexual content will only be visible to the owner or admins of the blog and those whom the owner has shared the blog with.

“For any blogs created after March 23, 2015, we may remove the blog or take other action if it includes content that is sexually explicit or shows graphic nudity as explained in our content policy,” Google said.

Those whose blog was created before the deadline have a few options: they can either remove explicit content to keep their blogs public, mark their blog as private or remove their blog from the platform.

Those who opt to take their blog down can export the blog as a .xml file or archive the blog’s text and images using Google Takeout.

Under Google’s current policy, bloggers who post sexual content are asked to put an ‘adult’ tag on the site. The tag results in a warning page popping up before viewers can access the blog. Google also has been known to slap the tag on blogs that it believes deserve to be labeled as an adult site.

Google, in 2013, banned blogs from having ads for adult websites.
