GMB would definitely pronounce all of them wrong.

They are not actually wrong but it's a variation in tongue. Most of the names aren't native English names and probably do not have an equivalent in English language, so English speakers tend to use a closer or easier one. Example is the "a" in France which is pronounced as short "a" in English but in french it is pronounced as long "a", i.e. "la france". I for sure know that Iraq is not pronounced as you started.
