What It Means To Be Blessed by Nobody: 12:31pm On Feb 28, 2015
Today I want to look at the real meaning of being "blessed" Are you
truly happy or lying to yourself??

It seems like in California, whenever
you talk to someone
who has absolutely
nothing going on in
their lives, they start
telling you how blessed they are.
“I'm just so blessed
to be able to be sitting on my porch today, enjoying such a beautiful day.”
Blessed? Is that another way of saying, “Hey, I'm too lazy to find a good job. I'm happy to sit here and do absolutely nothing all
day long and consider
myself enlightened?”
The most confused
people speak like that. In Los Angeles I have met so many women who are yoga instructors, and they always tell me how blessed they are to lead their lives.
I ask, “Do you want
to make money?” “No,” they say, “I lead a blessed life, that's all I need. I don't need material things. I'm going to have purses without leather, because it a blessing to save the animal.”
They seem like the
most confused people I've ever met, but they'll tell you in a heartbeat how blessed they are.
They feel blessed
because they don't
have to compete in
the world and make ends meet.
And they're blessed
because they still have a few more years of looking good and maybe some man will fall for
them. Maybe some
man will give them a
blessed life of living in
a nice house and not
a crappy one- bedroom apartment in West Venice. The terminology of “the blessed” is vast.
A blessed person will
never look at you and
say, “You know, I feel really blessed today, I've made a lot of money and have a lot of great friends.”
A blessed person would simply say, “Today's a great day.”
They won't tell you
how blessed they
are, how they appreciate just a little bit of sunshine.
Well of course. You're flat broke. You have
nothing else to appreciate except a
little bit of sunshine
that comes into your
life every single day,
because it gives you
a chance to escape
your lame reality.
I don't know, maybe
I've lived in California
too long. Maybe I
just need a taste of
the real world, but
I'm getting really tired of “the blessed people” who live out here.
The way they talk
about the beautiful
weather on a regular
basis and how appreciative they are
of living in a place that's so beautiful.
Have you ever driven
around LA? Sometimes there's so much traffic,
when you finally do
see the “blessed”
buildings around you,
you think to yourself,
“Did anyone think
about urban
planning?” They put up one ugly building next to
another. With no consistent design except a lack of design. The neighborhoods are so congested; the
property value is overpriced. So many people here are just
full of BS. So called “blessed people” I've found to be narcissistic. They always talk about
how blessed they
are, but it's all about
them, all about their
blah, blah, blah.
But they never really
include anybody in
that blessed dream
of theirs.
