Who Else Wants To Move To Mars? [mars 100] by Nobody: 12:15pm On Mar 01, 2015
You’ve probably heard
about the people that
want to move to Mars,
right? No, I’m not talking about a city
called Mars – if there’s
such a thing – I’m areferring to the Planet
Mars. Basically, they’re
doing a “research” for
life on Planet Mars, and
although no one has
ever lived on the planet,
over 200,000 people
have applied to live
there. So you might be
thinking, how bad can it
be? So let me explain.
Out of the 200,000
people that have
applied, they have been
reduced to 100 (I think).
The trip is supposed to
start in 2024 and will be
taking 24 people in 6
groups – one group per
couple of years. So one
group (of 4 people) goes in 2024 and next goes in 2026, etc. But here’s the catch: It’s a one way ticket. So you’ll be going to Mars, but you won’t be returning. And according to the
researchers, the first
set of lives are expected to be lost
after just about 68
days. So barely two
months after they land.
There was an interview
with a guy who was
explaining why he’d like
to live on Mars: he’s an
astronaut, and it has
always been his dream.
Yes, he’s aware that he
might die two months
after he arrives on Mars
– maybe even less –
and yes, he is married
with two kids. But he
apparently told his wife
before they got married
that this was a possibility. His wife said
it was okay with her as
long as they have kids
before he leaves.
Mission accomplished.
So I could not help but
wonder, what would be
a “normal” woman’s
reaction to her man
telling her that some
day in the future, he
might be going to Mars
and never, ever returning. And when the day comes, she would escort him to the space station or wherever it is they take off from, and
she would say goodbye
forever to him, and
then she would go home knowing she might as well call herself a widow because her husband is
not coming back. For all
she knows, he might
fry to death on Mars.
When I read stories like
this, I wonder, what is
wrong with Oyibo people? How can you
pack your load and say
you’re going to die on
purpose? And you’ll
leave your wife and kids behind? And your wife is okay with this? What about life and all its parts? Won’t you miss life? So you mean that all the space on the earth isn’t enough for you and your best idea is to move to Mars with no plans of coming back – and die in 68 days I guess moving to a new city, state, country, or continent is just not enough anymore.
You know what takes
the cake for me? It’s
the reason why they’re
only buying one-way
tickets. It’s not
because it’s impossible
to return to earth from
Mars. No, it’s because
it’ll be too expensive to
have a return ticket.
What!!!! Why not take
half the people and use
the remaining money
for their return ticket? I
just don’t understand
moving to Mars to die.
What’s wrong with
dying on earth? I don’t know if there’s life on Mars, but what if life there is different? Like there are still dinosaurs? Or the snakes have 3 heads?
Or what if men are really women over there? Oh, wait, we already have this last
part on earth. Well,
carry on then.

P.S. This suicide mission
is called Mars 100.
