Plugging A UPS Into An Inverter Socket by MontyNG(m): 11:19am On Mar 03, 2015
Hello guys,

Just need some quick advice. I run a media server in my house and it is connected to a small inverter. However, our dear NEPA has become worse lately so the inverter runs out in the middle of the night (not sure maybe around 4/5am) and ofcourse the server just dies which is not good!

If I plug in a UPS to the server, then it will recognise when there is no power and safely shut itself down which is a lot better than what is currently happening now...

But can I plug a UPS into an inverter socket?? does this make sense? It doesn't for me in a way.

So what I believe should happen is if the inverter runs out, the UPS will recognise it and safely shutdown the server. So all my data is safe.
