Hello computer gurus in the house. A friend of mine used his flash drive on my laptop few days ago and ever since then, all my folders in my laptop are shortcuts. and the unfortunate part of it is that, any flash drive I used on the system has the same problem. I gues is virus but my Avast in the system can't deal with it. pls help me out. this is really driving me crazy. thanks for ur help in advance. |

Jetland:update ur avast program and virus definition, then boot scan your system. Had same problem earlier and solve it using this method without formatting my system. Try to install smadav afterward and come back for testimonies. |

Jetland:Brother rollback to windows defender, update the definition and it will take care of the infections then use smadav to unhide your folders |

Do not format your PC. Download "usb fixit" and run it on your system. I think it is the best when it comes to shortcuts removal. |

And next time if you don't have cure for "arindo" don't eat cockroaches i.e. If your system is not protected by a good antivirus, do not insert flash drives anyhow   |

SMADAV Anti-Virus will work perfectly....That's what I used!here is a solution to get rid of it.as mentioned, smadav can render help to you.so download it and use it.your system is now the virus itself so any flash drive, memory card you insert will be infected. |
