Myriad of feelings
None lasting more than a few seconds
Each extinguishing the other swiftly
Like a goalkeeper diving for a ball
I try to catch the latter
Only to be overwhelmed with the former

Heartbeat skyrocketing
Thoughts jumping back and forth
Heaviness overshadowing happiness
Like the night upon the day
Can't seem to shut my mind off to any
Both hold more than meet the eyes
