Hi peeps,

This thread is open for those of us who have always compared between/among two/more industries which have impacted us in no little way sometimes, even influencing our way of life.

Here, we compare:
-Their impact (who do we need more)
-Political issues surrounding them.
-Of course, how much money flows there (which one get better moolah)
-Any other debate you have to side one industry over the other.

To set the ball rolling...

DEBATE #1

THE OIL INDUSTRY V. THE TELECOMMUNICATION INDUSTRY
Intro:
These two giants have undoubtedly changed our lives so much that we cannot imagine a modern world without them. What inspired me to match these two up was for the fact that I heard from a geologist friend that it took about $20m to dig an oil well per day and an engineer friend that it's not difficult for a telecom company to have just made N25m one minute ago (yeah N25 per min call rate x 1m active callers excluding other services like sms, internet data, etc).

Also inspiring is the fact that energy is in use constantly by drivers/generators right outside my door and by-products like plastics even found on your laptops and phones right now are all from oil.....
While everything happening right now consumes data which people are constantly transfering as we are nothing short of social who constantly need information to act or react, in whatever form it may be.....

So, there you have it peeps. Debate!
