Please,why do some ladies wear these waist beads? I just get the creeps if a lady undresses and i find her wearing one. Is there any cultural and spiritual(if any) significance attributed to putting on these things? Is one safe to do the do afterwards?

Many ladies wear waist beads for many reasons. Some for cultural reasons, some for latest fashion trend, some to pass off slutty vibes, while some wear it to 'feel among'. But in some African countries (mostly Nigeria), ladies wearing it as seen as slùts. Not that prostitùtes don't wear it, but every girl that does, gets roped into the undue generalization. It ain't fair, and it's gross misconception because our forefathers (mothers) wore it. It's celebrated then, even ankle necklace. But with the coming of foreign religions, we started abolishing even harmless practices. To me, waist bead ain't bad. 1 Like |
