For all those that are married have you really
think of ‘why you really got married’? Because
when the purpose of a thing is not known it
becomes an abuse. The marriage institution
today, is in shambles because it is been abused
by ‘unfortunate singles’ who decided to get married.

Marriage should not be what you feel it should
be which makes it unethical to the larger society
rather it should be something the society will
embrace and celebrate. ‘Marriage is honorable’
Hebrew 13:4, so therefore it should be respected
and not abused. Without a man and woman
coming together in agreement there would be
nothing like marriage. A successful marriage
makes a better home/family. What we should
know as individuals is that a family, which is in
existence as a result of the ‘marriage institution’,
is a smaller unit of the larger society so
therefore what ever goes wrong in a ‘marriage’
affects the society. Is like a political or
economical system of a nation that is in crisis
which is a concern to the citizens.
Many people got married for the wrong reasons;
either by people’s opinion or because of their
selfish reasons, turning it to a problematic
‘union’ which makes it (marriage) appear as an
impossible responsibility to bear.

For a marriage to succeed it must have the following qualities.

· Love
Tolerance
Sacrifice
Endurance
Accommodating
Given
Understanding
Communication
Trust
Faithfulness.

For marriage to be successful the man and
woman must possess and perform the qualities
listed above or else it will be in shambles.
Note this, marriage is not by force, if you are not
mentally, psychologically, emotionally, spiritually
and financially prepared don’t go into marriage
and become a case study and concern to the
society. Marriage is met to be a life time unbreakable spiritual contract. Marriage is not a one sided affair, it involves all the qualities listed above to make it work.

The following are some reasons why some
people rush into marriage.

1. · Sex (uncontrolled urge)
2. · Finance/poverty; either because the boy/
man is rich or the girl/woman is well
connected for the boy to get what he wants.
This is so common in our society today
(selfish interest).
3. Age; either because the boy or girl is aging
so he/she just want to get married to fulfill
all righteousness.
4. Pressure from family members and friends;
(indecision)
5. Marriage competition; my friend is married,
I must get married too. (Impatience).
6. Children; they just want to produce children
(selfish interest).
7. Lust of the eyes; either because the girl is so
beautiful or the boy is very handsome.

The seven points above are some of the reasons people rush into marriage and encounter challenges.
I pray for every storm in your marriage to
cease in the name of Jesus.
I pray for your marriage to be enviable and be
a good reference for people to talk about in the
name of Jesus.

For you singles, may God prepare you for a
successful marriage in the name of Jesus. Amen,
